This little girl always makes me happy. She turned 7 yesterday. We threw a surprise 70th birthday party for my dad last night and we planned it on my niece's birthday. Unfortunately that was just the best night for us to have it. She was a trooper though. She got to open a few presents for herself and I forced her to take a pic with me. I can't believe she is going to be in second grade come fall. I wish she could be in my class. She goes to another school in my district. I think she needs to transfer. 
We have a ton of fruit trees in our backyard. I bought 5 of these lanterns from Ikea to hang from a few of them for the party. I loved the way they looked when they were lit. We have a really ugly backyard, but Nate worked really hard to get it looking decent for the party and these lanterns added a little something. I think I will keep them up until we get rid of the trees.
