I hope I'm not jinxing it by posting this early, but Nate and I bought a house! Our first home. I'm starting to get super excited. Up until now I have just been very nervous and stressed. We signed all the escrow papers last night, we paid our down payment, and we are just waiting for escrow to close. It should close Monday or Tuesday. The timing is bad right now with the holidays and it is taking longer than it was supposed to. We won't move in for about a month. It's a total fixer upper and there are things that need to be done before we can even move in. I will post pics as soon as we have some work done. It's nothing to show off right now. In fact, I would be kind of embarrassed to have people see it in its current condition. It's small and needs a lot of work, but it's ours. We can do whatever we want to it and put our own touch on it throughout the years. It cost us everything we have and we will probably struggle to make mortgage each month, but it's been our dream to own a house for a long time. And we didn't have to move to Texas or Arizona to get it. We did have to move to LA though, which will be a weird change for me after growing up in the OC all my life.
