Rain, rain go away!

I usually love the rain, but it has rained on the last two Mondays, which I have had off of work. Last week I had to cancel a shopping day with Celia because of it (we were planning on going to the Spectrum), but it didn't really matter since we were both sick anyway. But I am feeling better today and I have errands to run, but who wants to go outside in this weather? Not me. SO here it is, 1:00 and I am still in my sleepy clothes. I have no plans on getting dressed. What's the point? Nate just left to head back to Bakersfield. The 5 was already closed and he was afraid the other roads would close too. It was great having him home all weekend and I am sad to say goodbye. The good news is I will see him again on Thursday when I go up there for his graduation. (OK, it just thundered and I LOVE thunder! Now I'm ok with the rain!) I will be having lunch with the Women's auxiliary Thursday. I am kind of dreading it, as I hate awkward events where I don't know anyone, but I figure it would be good for me to meet the wives of other firefighters. I might need their support in the future! Thursday night the academy is putting on a "show" for the families of the firefighters. I get to see the kinds of things Nate has been going through for training. Then on Friday, it's the big day! Nate graduates and is officially a firefighter for Kern County! I am so excited and proud! His friend Mike and I will be pinning on his badge during the ceremony. A lot of family and friends are going up for the graduation. We will be back Saturday to celebrate with friends in OC.

Valentine's Day was nice. We didn't do much which was ok. I was just glad to be with Nate. He's the best. He had roses delivered to school on Thursday and then he got me chocolate and some of my favorite candy. He dropped the ball and never made reservations for dinner so we just went to a movie (Gran Torino) and ate at Pei Wei. It was a nice night. The movie was really good! I cried a lot. Go see it.
