It's official!

After nearly 4 years of testing, interviewing, hoping, and praying, not to mention heartbreaks and let downs, Nate is officially a full-fledged firefighter! I could not be any prouder of my man. He has worked so hard for this and there isn't anyone more deserving. He never gave up, even when I started to, he kept pursuing the dream. He has been stationed in Bakersfield and he starts Friday. He will be working 48 hour shifts and then have 48 hours off. He will continue that pattern for 3 shifts and then have 8 days off! I can't wait to see him more and have my husband back!

The graduation ceremony was great. I got to pin his badge on along with his best friend, Mike. The day before graduation was the ladies auxiliary luncheon, which was nice. I met a couple of really nice girlfriends/wives. That night there was a family night/BBQ where the recruits demonstrated some of the things they have been trained on: rapelling, auto extrication, and putting out house fires. It was pretty awesome. After the graduation ceremony we went out to dinner with Nate's family and friends that made the long trip up (and down) to Bakersfield. Then we got together with the other graduates to celebrate over alcohol. It was a great few days in Bakersfield. I am just so happy for Nate and for us!
