Finally Part II
After 3 1/2 years of pursuing his dream of becoming a firefighter, it looks like that dream is becoming a reality. Nate got the good news yesterday that he has been accepted into the academy for Kern County Fire Department. He has been testing all over for several years and has put up with all the crap that comes with being an EMT, but it finally paid off. His academy starts the 20th. This means several changes for us. Nate will move out to Kern for the 16 weeks of his academy and rent an apartment with others in the academy. Since we can't afford 2 rent payments, I will be moving back "home" with my dad. You can imagine how much fun that will be for me. 29 years old and moving back in with my parent. Awesome. But we will save a ton of money and hopefully we will be able to put a down payment on a house soon. We have no plans to move out there permanently just yet. I don't want to give up my job and Nate feels like he will be able to commute since firefighters there only work 10 days a month. I have a feeling that he will get over the commute real fast though, so we'll see. I definitely do not want to move out. I have way too many teeth to live in Kern County!

WOOHOO!!! Way to go Nate :) We are so very happy for him and you! You have stuck by him all this time. I know it wasn't easy watching all the testing come and go.
You can't move out to Kern County...hello that is far! You're right way too many teeth to live there anyway ;)
I literally LOL'd at the teeth comment. Good for Nate (and you)! We love all firefighters in our house :)
Yay that's awesome for Nate! I'm sad if you guys end up moving away though. Especially since you want to have babies soon! I wanted someone to be pregnant with! Haha.
YAY! Congrats!! I hope it all works out well for you. Plenty of pilots live far from base, i'm sure it's common with the firefighters as well!
Well that's such great news! I'm happy for you guys, but hope you don't move too far.
