Swallows Day

On Saturday, Nate and I went to the Swallows Day Celebration in San Juan Capistrano. This is an annual event to celebrate the return of the swallows (even though they don't even return to SJC anymore). Swallows Day is a huge party that brings out the cowboys, hispanics, drunks, and every other walk of life that just needs an excuse to get drunk in the middle of the day!

San Juan holds a special place in my heart. It's where we got married and it's also where we spent one of my favorite days together early on in our relationship before Nate went to Iraq. We took a picture by the train tracks that day, and of course, I insisted that we took another picture in the same spot when we were there Saturday. We've changed a lot in just 5 years. Nate's hair was so dark then. I love looking at old pictures from the early days!
