Restaurant reviews and other completed tasks

I only have a few months to complete my 101 in 1001 list and I haven't even done half of them. Some of them are impossible to complete in the time I have left (i.e. have a baby). Anyway, here are a few I have completed and never blogged about.

#31 Get my credit report
Nate and I got our credit reports when we were trying to buy a house. We both have excellent credit. Nate's is a little better than mine. Originally this task was to have a credit report and close unused accounts, but I learned that it looks bad to close accounts, so I changed it to just get the credit report.

# 70 Try 10 new restaurants and blog reviews
I did these as I tried them, but here are 3 more reviews for your pleasure. It's been easy trying new restaurants since we moved to a new area. Almost every restaurant we go to is a new one for us!

Tantalum

We ate here for our anniversary. It came highly recommended by several people and it did not disappoint. The view is great as it is in the marina and the food was delicious. It was a little pricey, but I read that they have a good happy hour so that's a plus. I had the Udon Noodles and Beef. It was really spciy, but delish! Nate had the Ahi Tuna and it was also yummy. His portion was pretty small, but mine was perfect.

Tantalizingly Thai

We always try new Thai Restaurants. This one is near our house and drove by in often before we decided to try it. Whenever we eat Thai we start with the Tom Kha soup (not sure if I spelled it right). Anyway, this soup was so good. Probably some of the best I ever had. I figured the rest of the food would surely be delicious if it was anything like the soup. Oh I was so wrong. My dish (udon noodles again) was not good. The meat was dry and the sauce was think and gooey and not good. Nate had curry chicken and liked his. I'm not sure I would go back to this place. Well, I would for the soup, but I would definitely try something different. The service was really slow too. We got our soup right away, but the entrees took a really long time.

River's End Cafe

Nate and I rode our bikes from Long Beach to this restaurant in Seal Beach. It is right on the beach. The view is great if you can sit at a table on the edge. We had the best table when we first got there, but we were too cold and had to move to a different one. This place is described as having caribbean type food, but I got a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Not sure how caribbean that is. Nate had a weird burger that had beans on it. Yuck! I hate beans. It was really messy. My sandwich was pretty good. Nothing special. It's a cafe after all. What can you expect? I'd go back just for the location. It's a fun little joint to enjoy on a summer day.

#99 Move into a bigger place.
Technically I already blogged about this when we bought our house. We moved into our new place the last weekend in April. It took us almost 4 months to make the house livable from the time we got the keys. We actually moved into a bigger place when we moved back in with my dad, but that doesn't count since it was just temporary. This is permanent. Well semipermanent. I imagine we will move into a bigger house several years down the road and hopefully a couple kids later. I see us living here for at least 8 years. Especially after putting all this work into it. We will undoubtedly spend our entire time here working on some part of the house.

LOVE Tantalum. My Dad's friend is an owner. That's our go-to place for family affairs. So good! You have to get dessert next time. It's amazing!
