Most of my friends who blog on here have kids and those kids make up most of the stories and photos they blog about. While Nate and I don't have kids, we have the closest thing to a kid. A dog. We certainly do treat her like a child. They say dogs are man's best friend. Well, they are woman's best friend too. Harley is undoubtedly my best friend. She is always there for me, she never judges me, she holds no grudges. Even when I get mad and yell at her, she will be there to lick my face and remind me that she loves me unconditionally. She is a warm body in my bed all those lonely nights when Nate is at work. She lets me hug her whenever I want to and she has soaked up many tears of mine in her soft, smelly coat. I absolutely adore my dog. I figured she deserved her own post. It breaks my heart to know that she won't be with us forever. A part of me will forever be gone when she leaves this Earth.

A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
